Hawks Butte
Owners: Cindy Paulson
Located in the hills of the Yorkville Highlands AVA, the Hawks Butte vineyards produce grapes for both Bink Wines and Copain Wines.
High Rock Ranch Vineyard
High Rock Ranch (HRR) Vineyard is 13 acres located in the Yorkville Highlands appellation about 5 miles southeast of Boonville on Highway 128 and 17 miles from the pacific coast. The property is clouded in morning fog during the spring and summer months and typically burns off in the early to mid-morning hours followed by warm summer month temperatures. High Rock Vineyard's consistent large daily temperature differential, rocky soil, west facing slopes and 1,100’ elevation provides for ideal growing conditions and extraordinary grapes. The vineyard is watered by a designated lake located on the property.
High Rock Ranch Vineyards’ conception began when we were approached by Wells Guthrey. Wells informed us that the property was an ideal for growing Syrah. Wells believed that with his play book, he could make a world class Syrah. Copain has been making a High Rock Ranch VD Syrah every year since 2007. Siduri began making wine from our Pinot Noir with our first harvest in 2022.

Owners: Pete & Lorna Opatz
Grapes: Syrah, Zinfandel, Viognier
The wines are only as good as their origin and skill from which they are created. The true meaning of terroir is the combination of soil, climate and viticultural skills. So why the Yorkville Highlands? From our first visit in 1998 to our property, Pete sensed the incredible potential for winegrowing. Immediately after the purchase of the ranch property, Pete went to work on his tractor and planted 5 acres of Viognier, Zinfandel and Syrah with the addition of an acre of field blend Bordeaux varieties a few years later.
Owner: Theodora Lee
Grapes: Petite Sirah
Theopolis Vineyards is a small lot vineyard and hand-crafted winery located in California’s prestigious Yorkville Highlands of the Anderson Valley, which produces petite sirah, a red Rhone varietal. Established in 2003, Wine Critic Robert Parker bestowed upon wine made from grapes harvested from Theopolis Vineyards a stellar rating of 94-96 points, a spectacular showing for the vintner’s first harvest in 2006.
Emboldened by the great fruit produced by the land, its owner and founder, Theodora R. Lee, a bold and dynamic Texan and trial lawyer at Littler, is now bottling her own wines. In addition to bottling the richly intense and flavorful Petite Sirah, Theopolis Vineyards strikes a lighter note by bottling Symphony, a white wine, which is a crossing of Muscat and Grenache Gris. Tastings available via appointment. We hope you will enjoy our wines, and visit our website.
Weir Vineyard
Owner: Bill & Suki Weir
Grapes: Pinot Noir
This highly acclaimed vineyard is distinctive in that its terroir is unmistakably pronounced in the high quality grapes, overflowing with the minerals and forests of the Yorkville Highlands in Mendocino County. The result is a rich, deep yet graceful and highly nuanced Pinot Noir.
The vineyard's proximity to the coast provides an ideal cool climate in which the grapes grow. Both the Old and New of the Weir Vineyards are characterized by rocky hill soils, consisting of gravel and old brittle rock. The soil lends deeply to the distinctive mineral quality of the wine that the grapes produce. Each vine is stressed using various pruning, irrigation, and trellising techniques, in concert with soil mechanics, to encourage the vine to draw into itself the earth. By monitoring the crops to ensure low yields, all the rich nutrients and organic character will intensify and concentrate in what few clusters are produced, the result being a richer and more intense fruit, and thus a richer and more intense wine.
Yamakiri, or 'Mountain Fog,' is a constant presence at our ranch in the hills of Yorkville, California. Our intent in making wine is simple: we tend older vineyards, pressing them into gentle use. We seek low-till and dry-farmed vineyards for their depth and low yield. We let native grasses grow because vitality and diversity in the vineyard translate to a distinct expression of terroir and produce wine with a light footprint. We work closely with the land and its stewards in an effort to craft exceptional and unique wines.
