Maple Creek Winery is the dream and vision of Owner, Artist, Winemaker, Tom Rodrigues. The winery was established in 2001 and the wines are called “ARTEVINO” which is a culmination of his passions for Art and Wine. The lovely Art Nouveau style labels feature Tom’s “Vineyard Series” paintings and each label portrays a different painting – truly a piece of art on every bottle.
Maple Creek Winery is a small, boutique winery, producing around 4,000 cases annually of hand-crafted, award winning wines. The charming winery is set in the bucolic hills of the Yorkville Highlands appellation in southern Mendocino County, between the Alexander and Dry Creek Valley’s of Sonoma and the Anderson Valley of Mendocino.
On the twelve acres of southwest facing hillside vineyards grow Chardonnay, Merlot and Symphony. Maple Creek Winery practices sustainable farming methods and is very committed to maintaining a balanced ecosystem on the property. The winery and vineyards are part of the 181 acre Maple Creek Ranch, which boasts Maple Creek, 7 springs, fruit orchards, old-growth trees and pasture lands.
You will often find Tom in the Tasting Room or out working in vineyards. His philosophy is that to own a successful winery, one must work in all aspects of the business to clearly understand the overall picture. It is an incredible amount of work to grow the grapes, make the wine, sell the wine, and manage the ranch, but it is the most satisfying work to see the fruit of ones labor. It stands to reason that the best way to describe Maple Creek is…”where dreams and reality meet”.
The Winery, Tasting Room and Art Gallery are open daily.
