Lone Oak Estate Vineyard and Winery

Owners: The Ratto Family
Grapes: Chardonnay, Mariposa, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Serenata
In 1929, John F. Ratto founded the Lone Oak Ranch and Vineyards, located
approximately five miles north west of Cloverdale. In the wine country it is known as Yorkville Highlands Appellation in Mendocino County. Using the skills they acquired as young men in their native Ligurian region of northern Italy, John’s father Giusseppe Ratto and his father in-law Lorenzo Bertucci planted the first vines on our hillsides in the spring of that same year. We have been producing high quality fruit distinguished by its vibrant character for four generations.
Our winery is a family owned and operated business. We are excited to be opening our tasting room in the summer of 2012. We are fortunate to be located on the beautiful coastal Highway 128 on the Sonoma/Mendocino County line. We are only five miles from Cloverdale, and our tasting room will retain the history and charm of the old existing “ranch house” where many generations have enjoyed the beautiful views of our valley.

Old Chatham Ranch

Owners: George and Kit Lee
Grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon
At an elevation of 1,920 feet, the vineyard is one of the highest in the
Yorkville Highlands appellation. This impressive vineyard incorporates
360-degree vistas that include Dry Creek to the south, Cobb Mountain and
McDowell valley to the north, Geyserville to the east, and redwoods to the west.
Soils, climate, and location are perfectly suited to the Cabernet Sauvignon
grapes planted here in the spring of 2001. Currently, the vineyard is planted
with clone 337 on the drought resistant 110R rootstock and produces almost 4
tons per acre.  “Old Chatham Ranch” certified extra virgin olive oil is in

Owner: Kevin Barr
Grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot
Summerwind Vineyards is a beautiful example of a ranch where we have obtained
the highest quality wine grape production, using innovative tools and
experienced industry professionals to preserve the natural surroundings of the
vineyard. In addition to our own employees, many of whom have decades of
experience, we retain the services of several of the wine industry’s leading
experts in the fields of viticulture and enology. At SWV, expert knowledge has
been sought for the design, development, management and harvesting of this
premium vineyard site; the results show.  We are proud to have achieved the

Walsh Family Vineyards

Owners: Dennis & Mary Lou Walsh
Grapes: Pinot Noir
The Walsh’s Pinot Noir vineyard is truly a labor of love. Planted at a fourteen
hundred foot elevation, the drastic diurnal temperature shifts in the summer
(very warm days and cool nights from the coastal fog) allow it to produce high
quality fruit with excellent color. The rootstock for the vineyard is 101-14 and
is ideally suited for the dry summer climate and clay loam soil. Natural spring
water nourishes the vines during the late summer months.

Small berry clusters with delicate fruit flavors of cherry and strawberry are
characteristics of the Dijon clone 667. The vineyard is fish friendly and
produces between eight to ten tons of premium grapes each year. This great wine
starts in the vineyard and is enhanced by the carefully crafted winemaking style
of classic Burgundies.

Theopolis Vineyards

Owner: Theodora Lee
Grapes: Petite Sirah
Theopolis Vineyards is a small lot vineyard and hand-crafted winery located in California’s prestigious Yorkville Highlands of the Anderson Valley, which produces petite sirah, a red Rhone varietal. Established in 2003, Wine Critic Robert Parker bestowed upon wine made from grapes harvested from Theopolis Vineyards a stellar rating of 94-96 points, a spectacular showing for the vintner’s first harvest in 2006.

Emboldened by the great fruit produced by the land, it’s owner and founder, Theodora R. Lee, a bold and dynamic Texan and trial lawyer at Littler, is now bottling her own wines. In addition to bottling the richly intense and flavorful Petite Sirah, Theopolis Vineyards strikes a lighter note by bottling a Symphony, a white wine, which is a crossing of Muscat and Grenache Gris. Tastings Available Via Appointment. We hope you will enjoy our wines, and visit our website —
